Mark and colour, indeed, create a strong, clear dramatic nucleus of pictorial research imbued with life, in which landscapes, balances, dissonances and transformations of existence can be identified. These works of art show great formal refinement, expressing the achieved balance between the intense, somewhat scathing expansive gestures of strokes and the sensitive dialectics of colours with deep black. No hierarchies exist between mark, gesture and matter. The elimination of the image, which reintroduces the issue of the relationship between informal writing and space, highlights the peculiar features of a language that expresses its strong point in the distribution of colour with respect to the mark. In his most recent works, the choice of abstraction underlines the reason behind his research which, giving itself up to the emotion of painting, is able to give representative dignity and shape to the needs for emotions and imagination.
